External evaluation of 650+ applications for the A*Midex University Foundation (France)
As part of the multiannual partnership, ESF supported several competitive fundings calls of the A*Midex University Foundation, the bearer of the IDEX (The Initiative of Excellence) of Aix-Marseille University (AMU), providing over 650 expert assessments by international academic experts and representatives of non-academic stakeholder organisations. The calls covered bottom-up call for research projects by AMU researchers, Chairs of Excellence positions, calls supporting researcher training, and calls supporting research partnerships with socio-economic actors.
External evaluation of 600+ basic research applications for the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia
As part of the partnership with the Science Fund, ESF supported the assessment of the PRISMA funding call for basic and applied research projects of the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia involving 647 research project applications across all fields of sciences. ESF provided two or three expert assessment reports per application and handled the consensus step of the evaluation procedure.
19 Review Panels evaluated 500+ research projects for the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia
As part of the long-term partnership with the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia (SRNSFG) in 2023, ESF supported the evaluation process of the “Research Grants for Young Scientists” and “Fundamental Research State Grants” funding schemes. ESF implemented the scientific assessment of 500+ research proposals and set up 19 disciplinary review panels involving over 140 international experts.
External evaluation of 300+ postdoctoral applications for the YUFE European University Alliance
ESF supported the selection process of the YUFE4Postdocs programme, a MSCA Cofund programme of the Young Universities of the Future of Europe (YUFE) Alliance, that brings together nine young research-intensive universities from across Europe and is coordinated by the University of Antwerp (Belgium). Over 4700 Expert reviewers evaluated FWO research proposals and fellowship applications (Belgium)
As part of the long-term partnership with the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO), throughout 2023, ESF-SC supported FWO in the selection processes of several funding schemes, including Fundamental Research Projects, Postdoctoral Fellowships, evaluating more than 2,800 applications across all research domains, involving over 4,700 international expert reviewers.
