Graphene: Europe in the Lead Coordination and Support Action
The Graphene Flagship aims at advancing Europe’s strategic autonomy in technologies that rely on graphene and other 2D materials.
The initiative builds on the investments and impact of the 10-years Graphene Flagship FET initiative in H2020, and is now funded by the European Commission’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. The research and innovation agenda of the Flagship is brought forward by the 13 RIA and IA projects, whose activities cover 6 focus areas (i.e. energy, composites, safe and sustainable by design, electronics+photonics, 2DM of tomorrow, biomedical). The coherence of the initiative is guaranteed by the GrapheneEU coordination and support action (CSA).
GrapheneEU builds upon the extensive experience and expertise of a consortium that has been responsible for the central support and coordination functions of the Graphene Flagship during the FP7 and Horizon 2020 phases. GrapheneEU ensures the coherence of the initiative, providing key support in coordination and governance, industrialisation, dissemination and alignment, as well as concrete tools for the RIA/IA projects to exploit synergies in their scientific and technological activities and rely on common services that allow the overall GF to reach its goals more efficiently and with higher impact.
