Fight Kids Cancer
Fight Kids Cancer (FKC) is a collaborative research programme supporting academic research for paediatric cancers, providing 10M€ funding per year.
Launched in 2019, the initiative was created to address the urgent need for innovation in the treatment of paediatric oncology. The programme supports clinical trials and translational research focused on improving survival rates, reducing treatment toxicity, and restoring young patients to full health. FKC prioritises interdisciplinary and collaborative research, particularly in areas with high unmet needs such as paediatric brain tumours, leukaemia, and solid tumours. It also aims to advance fundamental scientific knowledge and build scientific capacity across Europe. By encouraging cross-border collaboration, FKC fosters fostering synergies between leading paediatric oncology centers and supports long-term European collaboration.
In addition to its funding role, FKC has built a pan-European network of excellence in paediatric oncology, helping to build long-term scientific capacity and supporting the next generation of paediatric cancer researchers.
To date, FKC has supported 14 clinical trials and 32 translational research projects representing an investment of over 42 million euros across 6 years.
