We support our partners in integrating the principles of diversity and inclusivity into their research practices, fostering an equitable and inclusive environment throughout the project.

Many funding bodies and institutions now mandate diversity and inclusivity, including gender equality, in research to comply with EU standards and guidelines. Addressing gender balance and inclusivity both at the institutional level and in research activities, is not only a moral imperative but often a requirement for receiving grants and institutional support. Gender-equal and inclusive research not only enriches the scientific process but also ensures fairer, more impactful, and more ethical outcomes for society as a whole.

With a dedicated cluster working on inclusive science projects, ESF provides expertise in promoting diversity and inclusivity within scientific structures and EU-funded projects. This includes analysing and supporting the development of gender equality plans and inclusive policies, as well as leading the implementation of training programmes and frameworks for monitoring ethical and gender dimensions. We are also specialised in supporting equity-focused initiatives, tending to project management and other support services. In all activities, we tailor our strategies to meet project objectives and adapt to various ecosystems, working with stakeholders from academia and research, but also NGOs, SMEs, policymakers, and civil society.  Due to our expertise, scientific communities can engage fully with their scientific activities and achieve their goals, while advancing equity and diversity.
