Recruitment process
We engage in fair, transparent and merit-based recruitment, while aiming to promote diversity. We ensure this by following the policy outlined in the European Charter of Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
How to apply?
Submit a resume and cover letter in English to jobs[at]esf[dot]org while referencing the job code specified in the vacancy. Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. If you do not hear from us, please assume that your application has not been successful.
How do we conduct interviews?
Shortlisted candidates are invited for interviews with a panel of 2 to 3 members. Interviews, lasting at least an hour, may include up to three rounds based on role complexity. Senior staff may join panels for scientific positions. Objective evaluation is ensured through a pre-set questionnaire and grading matrix. Decisions are communicated promptly.
How do we support applicants?
Reasonable travel expenses for interviews are reimbursed. Potential complaints about recruitment processes can be resolved with our Human Resources department, alternatively with our Chief Executive.
