From 1974-2015, ESF managed a variety of research instruments, ranging from 5-year programmes involving potentially hundreds of researchers, to more concentrated 3-day events that explored innovative ideas and future perspectives (Exploratory Workshops). All activities were handled with a high level of care and attention to detail. Thanks to dedicated and skilled staff, we provided excellence and ensured that the results of our activities were published in high-quality journals and circulated to the relevant audiences through our developed communications channels.
Each ESF activity was designed from the perspective of the research community and was tailor-made to provide an opportunity for researchers to break the barriers of international borders and to come together for the benefit of European science as a whole.
ESF is now focused on providing services for the science community.
