ESF invites applications for an IT developer

ESF is a non-profit association with 42 years of experience in funding, administration and management of small to large research projects across national borders and disciplines. Science Connect, ESF’s expert services division, builds from this experience to offer partners and clients the highest standard in science services (peer-review, evaluation, project management, career tracking, hosting of expert committees).


The mission of the IT Developper is to design, install and/or modify software/programmes/databases according to the needs of users. (S) he will contribute to each phase of a project: needs analysis, development, tests and trials, production of manuals, delivery and maintenance. (S)he provides assistance and training in the use of the new application or programme to users.


  • Bac+2 (BTS/IUT informatique) or Bac +3 (licence informatique) + 2 years experience.
  • We use SmartSimple which is an SaaS (Software as a Service) system which can be customised and expanded by front-end development. In order to adapt and configure pages, it is necessary to understand XML and/or JSON and be able to develop web forms.
  • In order to develop new elements, mastery of API REST and related technology - HTML, CSS, Javascript, Jquery, MySQL- is a requisite; experience of Java would be a plus.
  • Good knowledge and practice of English, this is our working language.

  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
  • Autonomy ;
  • Good relational qualities (listening and speaking) and ability to communicate clearly, concisely and efficiently with users;
  • Creativity in identifying appropriate technical solutions.

This position (6 month short term contract followed by a permanent contract) is to be filled as soon as possible.
