Camelia Steinmetz

Camelia Steinmetz is Administrator at ESF Science Connect. Camelia is a highly skilled and talented individual committed to high performance and continuous improvement across all organizational and client requirements.  She is a valuable link in the service chain, providing a vital administrative matrix to science managers.

Working in a high-level scientific environment, Camelia’s role involves a complex range of responsibilities including managing administrative support to the Foundation’s Expert Boards and Committees, the organisation of scientific meetings and events for ongoing EC contracts and support for Peer-Review and Evaluation missions. Her commitment and follow-through allow her to effectively manage many projects in parallel.

Camelia joined the European Science Foundation in 2009 and since then has held a number of key administrative positions in such areas as the Humanities and Social Sciences and Medical Sciences .
In 2014, she took on the role of Operations Manager at EuroScience in Strasbourg for a year during which she launched and managed the European Young Researchers Award Call and applications process, organised EuroScience Governing Board meetings and Science Policy Working Group meetings, while at the same time providing support to the Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General in the recruitment of new staff.

Camelia holds a BA in Applied Foreign Languages from the University of Transylvania, Brasov. She is a highly skilled translator, speaking fluent English, French and Romanian.

She brings these skills, along with her natural organizational skills, positive attitude and work ethic, to the service of Science Connect’s clients and scientists.
