Roadmapping Distributed Research Infrastructures in Europe
Save the date! 9 - 10 June 2025 in Krakow, ESF and Europlanet Society are co-organising a two half-day workshop, just before the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI).
The workshop is open to all Research Infrastructures (RIs) in the European Research Area (ERA) and will be focused upon two specific topics:
- The role of distributed RIs within the European research landscape. This will include discussion of the ESF prepared White Paper ‘The role and importance of small to medium-sized Distributed Research Infrastructures (DRI) in sustaining European research competitiveness'
- Developing research infrastructures in less represented regions of Europe The discussion will aim to present both challenges and opportunities for laboratories and facilities in those parts of Europe where currently there are fewer RIs.
You are kindly invited to save the dates and register through this registration link. Further details on the programme and the speaker's list will be shared with you very soon.
Please note that these activities build on a series of events focused on small and medium distributed RI networks in Europe:
‘Research Infrastructures in Europe – Development, Sustainability and Inclusion’, Research Centre for Natural Sciences, Budapest, September 2024 - one day meeting organised by HUN-REN and Europlanet
‘Long-term Sustainability of Small and Mid-scale Distributed RI Projects’. Brno, October 2022 - ICRI side event, co-organized by ESF, MOSBRI, VITALISE and Europlanet
‘Common Challenges and Actions for Distributed Research Infrastructures in Europe’, online event, March 2021, co-organized by ESF and Europlanet
