ESF meets with Nanyang Technological University in Singapore

On 8 August 2017, the Chief Executive of the European Science Foundation (ESF), Dr Jean-Claude Worms, met with Professor Bertil Andersson, President of the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore, and with Professor Lam Khin Yong, Chief of Staff and Vice-President for Research, and other senior staff members.

The aim of the meeting was to gain a greater understanding of NTU’s achievements and goals, of the work of ESF and its expert service division, Science Connect, and to explore and consider opportunities of collaboration between ESF and NTU in the future. Professor Andersson and Dr Worms exchanged views on the research landscape in Europe and Asia, and on future perspectives of collaboration between the two organisations. Professor Lam presented the remarkable accomplishments of NTU and its positioning in terms of research and innovation excellence in Asia and the world. The capacity of ESF Science Connect in delivering high-quality services in terms of research evaluation was discussed between the parties. The visit ended with a tour of the A*STAR Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC) co-chaired by NTU (Professor Lam).
