Science Advisory Board

During the timeframe of the European Commission grant agreement, the MERIL project benefitted from a Science Advisory Board made of up of experts in Research Infrastructures nominated by the ESF Standing Committees and Expert Boards and Committees. Their role was to represent and engage the scientific user communities in the preparation of the MERIL database and portal by:

  1. Providing input and advice on:

    • the list of Scientific Domains and Categories of Research Infrastructures (RIs);
    • the definitions and keywords to describe what are of the categories of RIs in specific scientific domains, using an online survey;
    • examples of high quality RIs of European relevance for categories of RIs in their specific domains;
    • the common criteria for pan-European RIs.

  2. Expressing the specific needs of their community for such a database/portal.

Scientific Advisory Board 2010-2012

The MERIL project was supported by the European Commission under Framework Programme 7 - Contract # 262159 between October 2010 and December 2012. In 2013 it is supported by the ESF member organisations.
