Dates

15-22 June 2008 : Participants are expected to arrive on 15 June and depart on 22 June.

Location

Mathematical Research and Conference Center, Będlewo, Poland
The Mathematical Research and Conference Center is located in Będlewo, 26 km southwest from Poznań. The Center is situated in a charming spot on the border of the Wielkopolski National Park. The complex spans 9 hectars, including a strictly preserved forest area. The Center itself is located in two buldings: a neo-gothic palace built in 1866, and a modern and fully equipped hotel.

Final Programme & List of Accepted Participants

It is hard to overestimate the importance of spectral analysis of self-adjoint operators due to important applications in quantum mechanics. Recent developments in nano-physics opened a completely new chapter in this area. Important developments are related with random operators and diferential operators on families of connected manifolds. Surveys of the state -of-art in the above fields are planned.

The scope of this conference is rather vast and covers such fields as: random and quasi-periodic diferential operators, orthogonal polynomials, Jacobi and CMV matrices, and quantum graphs. In particular spectral properties of operators from various domains of mathematical physics will be discussed.

Recent scientific achievements of speakers and diversity of participants are considered as the highlights of the conference. Special sessions for young scientists presenting their recent results will be organized.

This is the fourth conference of the OTAMP series. The previous ones were organized in 2002 (Bedlewo), 2004 (Bedlewo), and 2006 (Lund).

This conference is a sattellite conference of 5ECM in Amsterdam.
