The Kiel Summer School (KiSS) is a center for learning in an international context, offering a variety of courses in economics, business administration, quantitative methods, social sciences, and the German language. The seven-week program also includes a series of field trips and visits to business companies. No prior German language training is required. Stein Rokkan Prize for Comparative Social Science Research: Announcement and Information for candidates for the XIIIth (2008) and XIVth (2009) Prize.The prize is open to all social science disciplines. It is given to a submission that is deemed by the Jury to be a very substantial and original contribution in comparative social science research. It can be either an unpublished manuscript of book length, or a printed book, or collected works published no more than two years before the award ceremony is to take place. The prize is €5000. |

Launched in 1996 by Research Directorate General, aims to collect pertinent information, in all Member States, on Local Initiatives against Social Exclusion, to gather them into a database on the web, for all interested people. Over 700 local intiatives, which are example of good practice and innovation in the fight against social exclusion, and texts demonstrating the policies of the Member States in this field, are also in LOCIN.
