ESF EUROCORES European Collaborative Research - Call for Theme Proposals

The ESF is inviting well developed proposals for new EUROCORES Programmes (EUROCORES themes).  It is envisaged that ESF will select about 5 EUROCORES theme proposals from this Call for further development into Open Calls for proposals. 

“Bottom-up ideas” are invited as the first step in the creation of new thematic and large scale European Collaborative Research Programmes in and across all scientific areas. Theme proposals are NOT large scale research proposals (such as Integrated Projects) but they are proposals for the creation of new Research Programmes dealing with complex and broad topics. For each of these Programmes an Open Call for proposals will be developed inviting proposals for Collaborative Research Projects.  The deadline for submissions is 2 June 2008 (18h00 CET).  For more information click here. 

European Latsis Prize 2008

The European Science Foundation invites nominations for the European Latsis Prize 2008. The Prize, of a value of 100,000 Swiss Francs, is presented each year by the International Latsis Foundation at the ESF Annual Assembly to a scientist or research group in recognition of outstanding and innovative contributions in a selected field of research. The research field for the 2008 Prize is ‘Astrophysics'.  The submission deadline is 30 June 2008. ESF Research Conferences Call for Proposals

The European Science Foundation invites European scientists to submit proposals for high-level research conferences to take place in 2010 within the framework of its Research Conferences Scheme.

The ESF Research Conferences Scheme provides the opportunity for leading scientists and younger researchers to meet for discussions on the most recent developments in their fields of research. ESF Research Conferences are open to scientists world-wide, whether from academia or industry. Conferences generally last for four or five days and up to 150 participants and invited speakers may attend.

In 2010, the ESF and its partners will fund Research Conferences in the following scientific domains:
