The Standing Committee of the Physical and Engineering Sciences (PESC) is comprised of over 30 distinguished scientists, nominated by ESF Member Organisations.

- Expert Committee on Radio Astronomy Frequencies (CRAF)
- Israel Academy of Sciences
- Materials Science and Engineering Expert Committee (MatSEEC)
- Nuclear Physics European Collaboration Committee (NuPECC) and
- US National Science Foundation
are invited to committee meetings as are liaison members from the COST Domain Committees for
- Materials, Physical and NanoSiences (MPNS)
- Chemistry and Molecular Sciences and Technologies (CMST) and
- Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
PESC has common science interfaces with many of COST’s nine Domain Committees; principally with the three Domain Committees mentioned above and to a lesser extent with BMBS (Biomedicine and Molecular BioSciences), ESSEM (Earth System Science and Environmental Management) and TUD (Transport and Urban Development) .
