Bringing together 24 partners, research institutes / fleet managing structures, from 16 countries, the project will aim at building a forum for European marine research infrastructures. EuroFLEETS emerged from the recommendations of the Marine Board Position Paper 10 Ocean Research Fleets - towards a common strategy and enhances use (March 2007), in coherence with the Aberdeen Declaration (June 2007) and the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI)... This Working Group will analyse main achievements in the sphere of marine biotechnology since 2001 (publication of Marine Board Position Paper 4 on this topic) in order to review innovation technologies, trends & emerging paradigms, identify/update key areas for development in Europe and propose improved procedures and identify future R&D needs.
The Marine Board has an observer status at the EC Collaborative Working Group on Marine Biotechnology (CWG-MB).
