MarinERA

Marine research projects database

MarinERA aims to enhance the coordination of national and regional marine RTD programmes in Europe. 

Since November 2004, the Marine Board is the project manager of the MarinERA project (coordinator: Ifremer), with 14 Funding Organisations from 13 countries, funded by the EU FP6 ERA-NET scheme.

MarinERA Projects Database

A new pilot on-line searchable marine research projects database has been launched by the MarinERA project. The database contains details of over 900 current marine research projects being funded by MarinERA partners. The database provides a unique source of material for marine scientists and policy-makers to access data on current marine research projects, identify potential research partners and nodes of specialist expertise. MarinERA open call for proposals

The MarinERA call for proposals Regional Drivers of Ecosystem Change – the measurement, modelling and prediction of ecosystem change is open. 

It focuses  on changes in marine ecosystems and functional biodiversity in relation to global change and other anthropogenic impacts.

A total amount of € 3.75M has been reserved by the participating funding partners:

  • Research Council of Norway (RCN)
  • German Juelich Research Centre GmBH Project Management Organisation Julich (FZJ-PTJ)
  • Spanish Ministry of Education and Science (MEC)
  • Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR) - In association with and representing the General secretariat for research and technology, Ministry of Development (GSRT)
  • Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT)  

Several geographical areas have been identified as of potential interest for the call:

  • North Sea, Channel and adjacent areas;
  • Mediterranean and exchanges with adjacent basins.   The deadline for submission is 16th April 2008 at 12:00 Brussels Local Time.
