FEUFAR - Future of European Fisheries and Aquaculture Research

The Marine Board Secretariat represents the Marine Board in the Consortium (together with six other partners) of an FP6 funded Specific Support Action addressing the modernisation and sustainability of fisheries policies.  The objective of the initiative, entitled FEUFAR (Future of European Fisheries and Aquaculture Research), is to undertake a foresight analysis to identify key challenges and options towards a more sustainable development of European fisheries and aquaculture industries.

Final FEUFAR Workshop (17 and 18 June 2008 Heraklion, Crete)

This workshop is open to experts and stakeholders; it will focus on translating future scenarios for development of the fisheries and aquaculture sector into research needs.

The FEUFAR project team seeks broad input from the fisheries sector, including processing and trade aspects, environmental groups and other stakeholders, as well as from experts from marine research. A representative from DG MARE will attend.
