Standing Commitee for Life, Earth, and Environmental Sciences
The committee is chaired by Professor Alexandre Quintanilha. It is composed of 30 leading scientists nominated by the ESF member organisations working in Life, Earth and Environmental sciences.
The committee's objectives are:
- Identifying emerging scientific topics deserving special attention in Europe
- Proposing programmes or projects for adoption as activities of the European Science Foundation;
- Examining and reporting on issues of strategic scientific importance within its fields of competence.
