ERIH Regional Information Days 2-4 April 2007

ERIH Stakeholder Meeting, Granada, 18-20 November 2007

The workshop “Making quality visible: a European Reference Index for the Humanities (ERIH) to better access and assess European Humanities research” took place on 18-20 November 2007. It was hosted by the University of Granada. The workshop focused on the future development of ERIH and was convened to offer stakeholders the opportunity to discuss and debate the ways that ERIH can move forward from the ‘initial lists’ stage towards a full-fledged reference index for the Humanities.

Key discussion points included:

  • ERIH as an assessment tool for the Humanities (together with other tools)
  • The need to include further publication formats
  • ERIH as backbone for a portal to European Humanities research

Working groups for these three areas are now being composed.

ERIH Regional Information days

Following the publication of the first seven ERIH 'initial' lists, a series of 'Regional Information Days' was organised by the ERIH team. The main aims of the event were to:

  • Inform relevant stakeholders about the project, with particular focus on both the limitations and possible uses of ERIH
  • Discuss future opportunities to participate in the process of updating the lists
  • Create and engage a strengthened network of dedicated ERIH national contact points in ESF Member Organisations

The Information Days were held in Paris, Copenhagen and Vienna between 2-4 April 2007 and the programme (PDF 70 KB)  gives an overview of the topics that were discussed.  Presentations given at the ERIH Information days by members of the ERIH Expert panels can be found below.
