Fiona Kernan, Scientific Officer working on EuroBioFund explains her role and how she came to be at the ESF.

I began work at the ESF in May 2006 to work on a new three year project funded by the European Commission, EuroBioFund. The key objective of this project is to improve the coordination between life sciences researchers and funding organisations in Europe through an annual conference, EuroBioForum. The tasks involve raising awareness among the scientific community, managing a Call for new research programme ideas, identifying scientific areas that would benefit from cooperation at a pan-European level and working with the host ESF Member Organisation to plan the conference itself.
