Science Policy activities 1998-2001
ESF Plan 1998-2001 developed an ambitious science policy agenda covering a broad range of areas. Science Policy initiatives undertaken in this period were aimed at facilitating a process in which national research organisations can learn and understand each other, while encouraging MO's to compete within the challenging European environment for research and contribute to the debate about the European Research Area (ERA) which at this time was being endorsed at highest level.
