European theatre iconography

Summary

This network drew on  a wide range of historical sources and research expertise to study the development of iconography in European theatre. In particular, the network explored how the non-verbal language of images has permeated across national boundaries in a similar way to music and has come to constitute a shared heritage of European visual culture.
