"Computer Modelling and Simulation for Improving Human Health"

This conference is jointly organised by the EC-Directorates Information Society and Media (INFSO) and Research (RTD) in cooperation with the US National Institutes of Health (NIH). The objectives of this conference are:

  • to communicate the opportunities and challenges of the Virtual Physiological Human and Integrative System Biology and other topics that lie at the crossroads of ICT, Biology and Medicine;
  • to provide the possibility for discussions on progress beyond the current state of the art and to promote international cooperation and networking;
  • to provide an overview about the current activities in these domains not only in EU but also in US and other countries, and to examine opportunities for closer cooperation between EU and US funding agencies.

Call for Research Summaries

Global Research Seminar: Sharing Research Agendas on Knowledge systems

UNESCO, Paris, 28 – 30 November 2008

 

The UNESCO Forum on Higher Education, Research and Knowledge invites research organizations and researchers actively involved in studying research and knowledge systems in key fields such as higher education, science and technology, innovation, social sciences, health and agriculture to submit a summary on their new and ongoing research for the Global Research Seminar.

2nd World Knowledge Dialogue Symposium
10-13 September 2008
Crans-Montana, Switzerland
 
 

The second World Knowledge Dialogue Symposium will be held on 10-13 September 2008 in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. The biennial event is an interdisciplinary discussion forum for top researchers and policy makers from all over the globe.

The programme of the symposium includes plenary sessions and discussion workshops. Two main interdisciplinary topics will guide the debate:

  1. collective network knowledge and human individual intelligence: convergences and divergences;
  2. collaborative behaviour, altruism and conflict: from animal behaviour to economics and prevention of violence.

The organisers have also issued a call for abstracts; the deadline to submit contributions is the 30 June 2008.
