The Origin of Man, Language and Languages (OMLL)

The EUROCORES Programme “On the Origin of Man, Language and Languages (OMLL)” addresses three main themes:

  • the evolution of anatomically modern humans;
  • language development;
  • linguistic diversity.

One of the strengths of the programme is its multidisciplinary approach. In recent years, data collected in several disciplines has led to new insights. The OMLL programme brings these insights together and develops them by networking research teams from relevant disciplines, such as genetics, neurosciences, archaeology, paleo-anthropology, cognitive sciences, AI and linguistics
