The world’s largest study aimed at improving the treatment of a rare type of bone cancer that mainly affects children and young adults is well underway, an international conference was told.

The second PROFIDYS Trial Steering Committee meeting took place in Paris on 17 October 2006.
The Second Pan-European Clinical Trial Training Course organised in the frame of the ECT programme took place in Oslo on 5-6 October 2006.
This course, comprising panel lectures and workshops, provided a forum for people responsible for managing European clinical trials at the institutional level to discuss and work through the various challenges in a supportive environment with peers and colleagues. Particular emphasis was placed on the practicalities of ensuring patient safety by complying with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) as well as National legislation and EU regulations.
