        • A 15 000 kilometres long travel leads to emmission of:

0.8 tonne carbon equivalent if travelling by small car outside the urban traffic.

2 tonnes carbon equivalent if travelling in an urban traffic by large car.

only 35 kg carbon equivalent if travelling by train.

        • Each EU citizen is responsible for 11 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions per year, out of which close to 9 tonnes are emissions of CO2.

          • An emissions produced by a one flight from Paris to New York are equivalent to about 450 - 500 small cars travelling the same distance.

            • To compensate present and future CO2 emissions (with no mitigation policy supposed), it would be neccesary to plant a new forest, out of agricultural soil, on 1/4 of world emerged land.

            • The people of the Kivalina village in Alaska which was, among others, determined by state and federal government to be relocated as the only long-term, viable solution how to cope with severe erosion and flooding, has sued 8 oil companies, 14 power companies and 1 coal company for the cost of their relocation arguing they are victims of climate change.

            • Developing countries across Asia, Africa and Latin America are forecast to see reduction in agricultural productivity of between 5-25% by 2080 due to climate change.

            • By 2020 it is projected that some 75-250 millions people in Africa will be exposed to increased water stress due to climate change.
