Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council

Role of organisation
The EPSRC is the largest of the UK research councils funded by government through the Office of Science and Technology. Its budget of £380 million a year is used mainly to promote high-quality research and postgraduate training in engineering and the physical sciences. Its mission is to develop a programme relevant to users in industry, commerce, government, the service sector and academia in the context of national economic competitiveness and quality of life, and to promote public understanding of engineering and the physical sciences.
