- The First EuroSYNBIO Conference was held on 26 and 27 May 2011 in Cannes-Mandelieu, France.

Report World Café session - At the Bio:Fiction Science, Art & Film Festival which took place in Vienna, Austria on 13-14 May 2011, Professor Sven Panke held a lecture on "Synthetic Biology - Synthetic Antibiotics?" and Dr Trygve Brautaset was invited to speak on "Outlook on Synthetic Biology Applications".
