Call for scientific meetings

The EUROGLYCOFORUM Research Networking invites proposals from the scientific community for financial support for Conferences, Workshops or Training Courses to be held in 2012, on topics with relevance to the programme. As a guide we would consider requests for co-sponsorship of a meeting particularly if this benefits Early Stage Researchers.  The usual level of support would be up to 8,000 euros.

The priority in the second stage of our Network Programme will be to enhance the outreach of glycoscience to the broader scientific community.  Therefore preference will be given to:

  1. Support for a glycoscience expert to speak at a non-glycoscience specialist meeting.  We would nominate a speaker or speakers to the organising committee of such meetings.
  2. Support for an expert(s) from another area to speak at a glycoscience meeting.

Suggestions for such speakers should be made to the Network Coordinator who will circulate the nominations to the Steering Committee.


Meetings should be held in one of the member countries of the network and normally applications to attend meetings outside of these countries will not be considered. The procedure for applications is to complete the application form and provide the following:

1) One page description
2) Meeting Programme
3) Budget breakdown with justification costs

 
The ESF conditions for awards should also be studied and any proposal not complying with these or our own conditions will be rejected.   There is also a requirement to enter details of all meeting attendees and to provide a report within 1 month of the meeting.

After this check on eligibility the applications are then circulated to the steering committee of the network for comments and recommendations for funding.  The organiser will normally be notified about the outcome within 1 month of the application.
