Summary

The objective of this European programme was to seek to define the relationship between the individual and society in such a way as to understand, for each period of Islamic history, the organisation of interdependent relationships, the position attributed to the individual, and the creation of a hierarchy of the values which rule society. This programme ended in May 2001 with a final conference

Four years, from 1996 to 2000, extended to 2001.

Publications

This programme published 13 volumes with three different publishers: Maisonneuve et Larose, I.B. Tauris and Paul Roubaud. Two extra volumes are expected by end of 2008.
