INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON BIOLOGY OF CANCER

Warsaw, 25-28 June 2008

The Foundation for Polish Science, Poland’s main independent research funding institution, is organising  the international FOCUS Workshop on Biology of Cancer, to be held in Serock close to Warsaw, from 25 to 28 June 2008.

The FOCUS programme has been designed to finance new independent research groups and labs, headed by young scientists; the 2008 edition covers biology of cancer. The above-mentioned Workshop plays a crucial role in identifying potential international teams who could apply for these long-term subsidies in order to launch independent research groups and build new laboratories in Poland.

This event will be based on interdisciplinary approach: examining cancer and cancer genesis by researchers involved in biology, biochemistry, clinical medicine and other relevant fields. We expect a high level exchange and a deeper understanding among the participants not only as to medical but also biological structures of cancer.

The Workshop will be hosted by the Foundation for Polish Science and co-financed by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the British Council (International Network of Young Scientists programme), the French Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale (INSERM) and other international partners. We will cover all the costs of eligible participants (as well as organize the logistics between the conference venue and the airport).

Registration deadline is the 16th May. For submitting your abstract and all practical details please consult the Workshop website:
