With the completion of the first wave of genome sequencing projects, functional genomics has become a strong focus in the molecular life sciences. This First ESF-JSPS Frontier Science Meeting for Young Researchers will bring together leading researchers and young scientists from Europe and Japan to discuss the relation between experimental functional genomics and bioinformatics. Sessions will include Functional and Structural Proteomics, Functional Annotation, Text Mining, Comparative Genomics, Systems Biology and Genomic Medicine.
Poster sessions are planned and a special programme for young researchers will take place on Sunday 26 October 2003 to give them the opportunity to introduce themselves and their work. An abstract should be submitted online when applying.
The total attendance is limited to a maximum of 75 participants: 25 speakers and 50 participants. Participants must hold a Ph.D. degree that is no more than 10 years old, or be in their final 1.5 years of Ph.D studies.
