Programme management defines the third pillar of ESF operations – Science Management. Under this area of activities ESF is dedicated to serve the scientific community in strengthening the position of cutting-edge science in Europe in a cost effective manner by creating synergies between funding sources and by assisting the breaking down of barriers to cross-boundary cooperation.
ESF provides the scientific, administrative and technical secretariat for COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology).
